A few months ago, Walmart introduced a new variety of pears, Citrus Pineapple, to compete with the more expensive, pricier apples.
Walmart announced Citrus Apple Pears as the first of its five-year-old fruit flavors, and the company had been testing it on a small scale for a few months.
But the real test will be when Walmart opens the brand’s stores to the public.
For now, though, it’s only available at Walmart.com.
Walmart has partnered with a food service company to deliver the citrus fruit at some of its stores.
Citrus Apple Pineapple is a combination of Citrus, Pineapple and Orange pears.
The company has partnered up with a company called Orange Pineapple to sell its citrus-forward pears to Walmart stores.
Walmart says it’s working on the flavors and will release them sometime in the spring.
Wal-Mart will have a variety of Citros available on its shelves including Pineapple Lemonade and Citrus Limeade.
